Welcome to BethSophie.com! I am a 23 year old young professional based in Scotland and this is my blog where I talk about my travels (and wanderlust when I can’t travel!), my career and my life in Edinburgh.
I started this blog in 2015 for a few reasons: firstly I graduated from my English degree in July 2014 and I missed writing so I thought that starting a blog would be a good way to get back into writing and feel like I was being productive at the same time. Secondly as an avid follower of lots of travel blogs, I love reading about people who travel full time and have dedicated their lives to seeing the world but that is not something that I want to do so I started to look for travel blogs that were written by people who also have full time jobs and who are balancing their career ambitions with their desire to go on adventures (like me!). When I failed to find anything I could relate to, I decided to create my own blog where hopefully I can engage with other people who want to balance their careers with travel and maybe even inspire other people to use their holiday allowances to their full advantage!
All of my travels are financed by my job and the majority of them are fitted in around my work schedule (with the exception of my “Round the World in 60 Days” series, when I took time off between leaving my old job in June and starting my new one in September). I am lucky that my job follows a standard shift pattern of Monday-Friday so I am able to make the most of my weekends too.
At the moment all of my posts are travel related, but I am planning on expanding into some more lifestyle and career posts soon as I start my new job and relocate to Edinburgh.
